DAY OF THE AFRICAN CHILD

June 16 every year is the day of the African Child. This is in memory of the kids killed by the Apartheid Government of South Africa as they demonstrated against its policies.

Three decades later, the African child is bogged down by many problems due to the child's vulnerability. Among the problems facing the children in Africa today are:

  • Physical Abuse

  • Sexual Abuse/Rape

  • Child Labour

  • Conscription as Child Soldiers

  • Incest

  • Under age Prostitution

  • Drought & Famine

  • War and its Aftermath

  • Disease like malnutrition

  • Pandemics like HIV-AIDS.

  • Child Traffiking

  • Lets hope that this year and the others to come will be better for the African Child so that he/she can rise to the highest level possible.
